Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available from ASAP through June in an elementary school setting, serving students in kindergarten through 5th grade. This contract opportunity is based in the Mount Clemens, MI area and involves working within a resource setting to provide tailored educational support for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in grades K-5
  • Deliver specialized instruction in a resource setting, supporting diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
  • Monitor and document student progress and adapt teaching strategies as necessary
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and engagement

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Michigan Special Education (MI SPED) teaching license is required
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students (kindergarten through 5th grade) in a special education setting
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and instructional strategies
  • Ability to design effective resource room instruction tailored to individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
