Job Description

Step into a meaningful role supporting high school students in an adaptive classroom setting as a contract special education teacher. This position provides the opportunity to work with a caseload of 26 students, shared across a collaborative team of two additional educators. The setting offers a supportive environment for both professionals and students, ensuring each learner receives the attention and resources they need to thrive. The assignment runs from mid-April through the end of the school year, making it an excellent opportunity to make an immediate impact.

Role Highlights:

Qualifications:

  • Current North Carolina Adaptive Special Education teaching license (required)
  • Prior experience with adaptive classrooms or working with high school-aged students with diverse learning needs

  • Commitment to fostering growth, independence, and life skills in every student

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with IEP goals
  • Monitor and document student progress, collaborating closely with colleagues and families
  • Implement individualized strategies tailored to each learners strengths and challenges
  • Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment conducive to learning and inclusion
