Make a meaningful difference in students lives working as a part-time Special Education Teacher in the Fairfield, CT area. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide exceptional support and instruction to K-8th grade students. Your role will involve traveling between two different locations, spending 5 hours each day supporting a diverse caseload, allowing you to build important relationships and deliver individualized education plans.
Key Qualifications & Certifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
- School Social Worker endorsement required
- Background or passion for Special Education in a school setting
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for partnering with families, staff, and support personnel
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with varying needs in K-8th grade
- Adapt teaching strategies and lesson plans based on IEP goals
- Monitor and document students progress, providing regular updates
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff
- Communicate regularly with families to foster engagement and support
- Maintain compliance with all school and state special education requirements
