Job Description

Make a meaningful difference as an elementary special education professional supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities in a well-supported school environment near Springfield, Oregon. This is a contract opportunity for the current school year, with the option for renewal. Youll guide a class of 32 elementary-age studentssome of whom spend most of their day in a specialized setting, while others transition between general and special education services. Collaboration is a cornerstone of this role, as youll have the support of paraprofessionals in the classroom to help meet the diverse needs of your students.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Oregon Teaching Certification with a special education endorsement
  • Experience with elementary-aged students in a special education setting (preferred)
  • Understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Ability to tailor instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and respectful learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small group instruction for students based on their IEPs
  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Develop meaningful relationships and advocate for each students unique needs
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events as required

This position offers consistent hours (37.5 per week) within a supportive school community in the scenic Willamette Valley. The contract aligns with the school year, and there may be opportunities to extend your assignment.
