This full-time contract position is designed for a skilled Special Education Teacher with a passion for working with students facing emotional and behavioral challenges. As part of a dedicated team, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students in an Emotional Disabilities (ED) classroom, fostering growth in a supportive and highly structured environment.
What Youll Need to Be Successful:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for South Carolina, or eligibility for certification
- Previous experience working in behavioral, emotional disabilities, or alternative education environments (strongly preferred)
- Expertise in classroom management, crisis intervention, and de-escalation
- Commitment to consistency, calmness, and maintaining a student-centered approach in challenging situations
- Excellent skills in collaboration and communication across multidisciplinary teams
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each students IEP goals
- Implement effective behavior intervention plans and maintain a therapeutic atmosphere
- Foster social-emotional skill-building with empathy and structure
- Partner with behavioral staff, administrators, and support personnel to provide comprehensive student support
- Maintain thorough records, contribute to IEP meetings, and adapt plans to evolving student needs
