Job Description

A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in South San Francisco, CA, beginning in the new school year with the first day on August 13th. This direct hire position offers a range of placements across multiple grade levels, serving early childhood through high school students with diverse learning needs.

Positions include:

  • Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) 1 opening
  • Elementary School: Extensive Support Needs (M/S) 2 openings; Mild/Moderate (First Semester) 1 opening
  • Middle School: Mild/Moderate 4 openings
  • High School: Mild/Moderate 3 openings; Extensive Support Needs (M/S) 1 opening

Candidates will support students across a variety of caseloads, working directly within a single school setting. While supervision from paraeducators or related support staff is not provided, educators will engage closely with students, families, and school personnel to implement individualized education programs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist credential with PPS endorsement is required; candidates without this credential will not be considered
  • Experience working with students who have mild/moderate and extensive support needs preferred
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavior support techniques
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans aligned with student needs
  • Deliver instruction and behavioral support tailored to each student's learning profile
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate progress with families and school staff
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to school-wide special education initiatives
