Job Description

A rewarding opportunity awaits for a Special Education Teacher excited to support high school students with significant cognitive impairments. This contract position extends through the 2026-2027 school year, beginning as soon as possible and continuing until May 2026. Youll be working in a self-contained classroom, providing personalized instruction and support where it matters most.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification
  • Experience teaching students with severe cognitive impairments strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP process and progress monitoring
  • Confidence managing a self-contained classroom setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to connect with students, families, and staff
  • Ability to create an inclusive, engaging, and structured learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to diverse learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to support student learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and program data
  • Communicate regularly with families and related service providers
  • Foster positive and productive classroom culture that prioritizes student safety and growth
