An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to provide inclusive special education services in an 8th-grade classroom setting. This contract position, located in South Bend, IN, involves working directly with a diverse caseload of 24 students with various disabilities. The role emphasizes delivering tailored educational support and collaborating closely with staff to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities
- Provide inclusive classroom instruction and support tailored to students unique needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure effective service delivery
- Maintain detailed documentation and complete IEP writing and conferencing responsibilities
- Cultivate a positive and encouraging classroom atmosphere that promotes student growth and inclusion
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with diverse disabilities in an inclusive classroom environment
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance procedures
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 24 students effectively
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and productive educational setting
Schedule and Location:
- Location: South Bend, IN
- Contract position, approximately 37.5 hours per week
- School hours from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Contract hours typically from 8:35 AM to 4:10 PM
