In this role, youll provide guidance and instruction in a self-contained classroom, supporting a vibrant group of 12 students with a range of needsincluding autism, sensory processing differences, communication challenges (both verbal and non-verbal), and social/emotional disturbances. Your expertise will create a safe, structured environment where students thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current Texas Special Education (SPED) licensure required
• Proven experience working with students with autism, emotional/behavioral needs, and varying functioning levels
• Familiarity with assistive/augmentative communication (AAC) devices and supporting non-verbal students
• Ability to address and manage sensory issues and toileting needs
• Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate, adaptable teaching style
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork with paraprofessionals and related service providers

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs
• Utilize and support the use of AAC devices for non-verbal students
• Address toileting, sensory, and behavioral needs with empathy and professionalism
• Track progress, complete IEP documentation, and maintain regular communication with families
