Sunbelt is scheduling interviews for a Special Education Teacher in the Somerville, Tennessee area.

We are actively seeking a dedicated, compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the full duration of the current school year. This position is full-time, working in a self-contained classroom serving elementary-aged students (Pre-K or K5th Grade).

Responsibilities Include:

• Lead a self-contained Special Education classroom (Pre-K or K5th grade) tailored to individual student learning and developmental needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with district and state standards.
• Provide direct instructional services and support across functional, academic, and behavioral areas.
• Conduct regular progress monitoring, assessments, and documentation to track student progress.
• Collaborate with parents, school administrators, related service providers, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive educational approach.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Licensure: Active Tennessee Special Education Teaching License (or valid endorsement/eligibility to teach Special Education in TN).
• Experience: Recent experience working in self-contained Special Education environments or with Pre-K/Elementary populations preferred.

Position Highlights:

• Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday during standard school operating hours.
