Make a lasting impact by providing specialized instruction as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary setting for the 20262027 school year. This is a contract role supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a collaborative and resource-rich environment. The position is based within one elementary school and welcomes travel professionals passionate about advancing inclusive education.
This opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, to May 21, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek spread across five days. You will work with a diverse caseload ranging from kindergarten to grade 12, supporting students academic, behavioral, and social development through evidence-based interventions and a team approach.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Missouri Special Education teaching certification required
- Experience working with ASD populations is highly preferred
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Proficient in using assistive technology and adaptive communication tools
- Strong data collection and analysis skills to inform instruction
- Must successfully complete fingerprinting and background requirements
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted ASD programming aligned with student needs and IEP goals
- Use data-driven strategies to adapt instruction for optimal outcomes
- Document programming and maintain accurate records
- Utilize and help students access assistive technology and communication devices
- Participate actively in planning, team meetings, and indirect/admin tasks (with dedicated time)
- Collaborate with families, other educators, and support staff
