Job Description

This full-time position is for a Special Education Teacher serving high school students grades 9-12 with severe needs and emotional/behavioral challenges. The contract runs from August 25th through June 5th, 2026, providing a structured academic year assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with severe disabilities and emotional/behavioral needs
  • Employ evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions to support student growth and engagement
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and family members to ensure cohesive student support
  • Monitor and document student progress toward academic and developmental goals
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with high school students with severe needs and emotional/behavioral challenges
  • Ability to design and adapt curriculum for diverse learning needs
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Dedication to fostering student success in a challenging environment
