Start a meaningful contract position supporting students in special education programs in the Shawnee, KS area. Openings are available for dedicated teachers across elementary, middle, and high school levels, with a focus on classrooms serving students with life skills needs, autism, or behavioral challenges. Multiple positions are available: five at the elementary level, three at the middle school level, one at the high school level, and two part-time half-teacher positions.

This opportunity begins as soon as possible and extends through May 21, 2027.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

• Active Kansas teaching license in Special Education for the appropriate grade level at the time of application
• Proven experience in special education, ideally with students presenting autism, behavioral needs, or life skills development
• Flexibility in working with diverse learners and adapting instructional strategies
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for partnering with colleagues, support staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction to students per their individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Develop individualized strategies and behavioral supports for students with exceptional needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess progress and modify goals as needed
• Maintain detailed documentation and participate in all required meetings
