Job Description

This opportunity is for Special Education Teachers to support multiple K-12 classrooms in a Kansas school district. Positions include a mix of resource and self-contained classrooms, serving a variety of student needs. This contract role spans the school year, with immediate openings available.

  • Douglas Elementary: 1 Autism Teacher
  • Frances Willard: 1 Life Skills/Medically Fragile Teacher
  • Lowell Brune: 1 Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) Teacher
  • New Chelsea: 1 SLC Teacher
  • Silver City: 1 Medically Fragile Teacher, 1 Life Skills/SAILS Teacher
  • Stony Point South: 1 SLC Teacher
  • Welborn Elementary: 1 SLC Teacher
  • Argentine: 1 SLC Teacher
  • Arrowhead: 1 Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) Teacher
  • Central: 1 SLC Teacher
  • Eisenhower: 1 SLC Teacher

Class sizes generally range between 8 to 18 students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Kansas teaching license in Special Education, active and current
  • Experience managing caseloads within K-12 special education programs
  • Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) effectively
  • Skill working in resource and self-contained classroom settings

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with individual student needs
  • Monitor progress and adapt lessons to meet academic and behavioral goals
  • Collaborate with educational teams, families, and support staff to maximize student success
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with district policies and state regulations
