Job Description

Experienced Special Education Teachers are needed immediately through May 22, 2026, with multiple vacancies serving K-12 learners in both resource and self-contained classrooms. Diverse instructional needs include Life Skills, Autism Support, Social Learning Center (SLC), Behavioral Support (BSC), Medically Fragile, and SAILS classrooms.

Your teaching expertise can make a lasting impact in one of 14 available roles. Caseload sizes vary from eight to eighteen students, offering the ability to provide focused instruction and individualized support. Openings span elementary schools and specialized programs, each dedicated to fostering inclusive and growth-oriented learning environments.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Kansas teaching license in Special Education is required (please be prepared to provide documentation)
  • Experience in resource or self-contained classrooms preferred
  • Knowledge of IEP development, instructional modifications, and progress monitoring
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs
  • Develop and implement IEPs in close partnership with families and support staff
  • Track progress and adjust strategies to promote student growth
  • Employ best practices for classroom management and inclusion
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive school community
