What were looking for:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification (in Georgia or eligible for reciprocity)
- Experience working with students in special education settings (mild to moderate and/or severe/profound preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, families, and staff
- Familiarity with IEP development, data collection, and progress monitoring
- Ability to differentiate instruction to address various learning styles and needs
- Positive attitude and strong organizational skills
- Willingness to participate in team meetings and collaborate across disciplines
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans within special education guidelines
- Adapt instructional strategies and classroom materials to meet each students unique needs
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Track student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed
- Work alongside general education teachers and related service providers for holistic support
- Engage in parent communication and participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming classroom environment
