Job Description

Step into an opportunity to help shape young minds as a Special Education Teacher in Phoenix, AZ! This full-time contract position is ideal for educators passionate about making a meaningful impact with elementary students. There are three dynamic openings available, serving two supportive school communities in Buckeye and Phoenix.

Your role will include working with students in either self-contained settings, push-in/pull-out models, or resource environments. The Buckeye site offers both a self-contained classroom and a push-in/pull-out setting for elementary-aged students. In Phoenix, youll support an elementary resource caseload with a blend of push-in and pull-out support. Day-to-day, expect to collaborate with general education teachers, design and modify instruction, implement IEPs, and foster a positive learning environment.

What will set you up for success in this role?

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current AZ Special Education Certification covering assigned grade levels
  • Valid Content Area/Generalist Certification for grades K-5
  • Expertise in developing and implementing IEPs
  • Ability to adapt learning activities for varied abilities and needs
  • Experience in elementary self-contained or resource models preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students with diverse needs
  • Maintain accurate and timely progress records
  • Collaborate with team members to develop, review, and update IEPs
  • Communicate effectively with guardians and support staff
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Engage in professional development as needed
