A well-respected school district near Scottsdale is hiring experienced Special Education Teachers to fill multiple full-time contract positions across several campuses. Educators who thrive when working with students in life skills, transition, behavioral support, and inclusion settings are especially encouraged to apply. Each school assignment is onsite and well-suited for educators within a 30-minute commute to priority locations: Fairfax, Central, and Hayden.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License
  • Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
  • IVP Fingerprint Card
  • Proven experience with emotional disabilities, autism, or other exceptionalities
  • Familiarity with life skills/transition programs, behavioral classrooms, and structured intensive support environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of special services documentation and compliance with federal, state, and district requirements
  • Willingness to complete Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or participate in development sessions
  • Awareness of diverse student needs: at-risk, limited English proficient, culturally diverse populations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve assigned caseloads that may include inclusion, practical, CBT (life skills/functional academics), and STRIVE (self-contained behavior/Autism intensive support) groups
  • Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure student growth and success
  • Participate in district-required professional development July 21-24 and report with all staff July 27May 21, 2027
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom climate to encourage academic and social/emotional progress
