Job Description
Dedicated special education professionals are needed for contract roles within a large, dynamic high school district near Scottsdale, AZ. These full-time opportunities span multiple campuses, focusing on life skills, transition services, and structured intensive support classrooms. Candidates must be within a 30-minute commute of Fairfax, Central, or Hayden locations, as immediate openings span these priority sites.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with a variety of needs, including inclusion programs, SUCCESS models, life skills, transition (CBT), and STRIVE (self-contained behavior classrooms for autism/behavioral support).
- Manage classroom caseloads (ranging from 625 students) and contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs in accordance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
- Foster a supportive and positive classroom environment that encourages growth in prosocial and self-regulatory skills.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, counselors, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive educational support for at-risk, limited-English, and exceptional students.
- Participate in CIE (July 2124) and return with the full staff team from July 27 through the academic year.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training.
Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona secondary teaching license.
- Current K-12 Special Education certificate.
- IVP fingerprint clearance card.
- Experience with emotional disabilities and diverse student populations.
- Skilled in developing special services activities and documentation.
- Willingness to travel onsite to assigned schools (teletherapy not available).
- Proximity to Fairfax, Central, or Hayden campuses essential.
Multiple positions are available for the 20242027 school years. Experience in both resource and self-contained settings, particularly in life skills and behavioral support, will stand out.
