Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid Arizona Special Education teaching credential (or eligibility)
  • Experience with self-contained, Autism, intellectual disability, and behavioral classrooms highly preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP process and data collection
  • Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching style to meet varied learning needs
  • Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction in accordance with students IEPs and individualized needs
  • Develop lesson plans and adapt curriculum for students abilities and goals
  • Provide behavioral and academic support, building positive rapport with students
  • Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to monitor progress
  • Document and report on student achievement and behavioral outcomes
  • Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment conducive to learning
