Job Description

We are hiring Special Education Teachers to provide flexible, in-person support across school sites in Carbon and Lehigh Counties, PA for the upcoming school year. This role is ideal for adaptable educators who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy supporting a variety of classrooms and student needs.

Position Overview

  • Location: Carbon County and Lehigh County, PA
  • Schedule: 35 hours per week
  • Assignment Dates: August 2026 June 2027 (follows school calendar)
  • Setting: In-person, multiple school sites

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for Special Education teacher absences across assigned geographic areas
  • Step into classrooms to ensure continuity of instruction and behavioral support
  • Support IEP implementation, data collection, and student progress monitoring
  • Collaborate with classroom staff, related service providers, and administration
  • Adapt quickly to different classroom environments, student needs, and schedules

Caseload & Structure

  • Serve as a traveling teacher within a designated county
  • Cover short-term and long-term absences, including extended leaves when needed
  • When not assigned to cover an absence, you will support established Special Education classrooms within the program

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

  • Active Pennsylvania Special Education certification
  • Active PA educator license
  • Prior experience in Special Education settings
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs
  • Ability to work fully in-person
  • Strong flexibility, reliability, and classroom management skills

  • Able to quickly build rapport with students and staff
  • Highly dependable with strong communication skills
  • Organized and confident stepping into new environments
