Job Description

This role focuses on supporting students with special needs at one assigned school, managing a caseload of 20 students and collaborating closely with a dedicated educational team.

You will provide vital assessment and evaluation services, deliver direct instruction, and participate actively in IEP meetingsmaking a meaningful difference in the lives of your students. All hours worked within your contracted timeframe, including administrative tasks and team meetings, are compensated.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • Valid New York State Teaching Certificate in Special Education
  • Experience working with diverse learners, particularly those requiring individualized education plans
  • Strong understanding of assessment tools and the IEP process
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-centered environment
  • Fingerprinting clearance required prior to start

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct specialized assessments and develop targeted instructional plans
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for students on your caseload
  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Track and report student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff for student success
  • Provide input on program development and student transitions
