This contract position offers you the chance to work with a diverse group of students, ranging from Pre-K and Early Childhood to High School (grades K12). Youll have the unique opportunity to teach and mentor children across various grade levels and developmental stages, nurturing their skills in both general academics and mathematics.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid teaching credential with special education authorization for the state of California
- Experience or strong interest in working with students from Pre-K through 12th grade
- Understanding of IEP processes and implementation
- Ability to modify curriculum and lessons to individual student needs
- Confidence supporting students in multiple subjects, especially Math
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability to address a variety of learning styles
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to students with special needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Design and implement individualized lesson plans focusing on grade-level content and life skills
- Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and parents to promote student success
- Monitor student progress and document achievements on a regular basis
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment for a wide range of learners
- Support students social, emotional, and behavioral development through evidence-based strategies
