Make a difference in the lives of students across a wide range of ages and abilities as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to teach and support children from Early Childhood through High School, spanning Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grades K-5, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12. Specialization in Math is a plus, and your expertise will be vital in helping students achieve academic and personal success.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students in Pre-K through Grade 12, including early childhood and high school populations
- Strong knowledge of Differentiated Instruction, IEP development, and progress monitoring
- Comfort adapting curriculum and instructional practices for diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with other educators, staff, and families
- Flexibility in teaching multiple age groups and academic subjects, especially Math
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs
- Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to foster inclusive classroom environments
- Provide direct instruction, intervention, and academic support in a variety of subjects with a focus on Math
- Track and document student progress, adjusting strategies and goals as needed
- Foster a positive, supportive, and safe classroom culture
- Communicate regularly with families to share updates and collaborate on student goals
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local regulations
