A reputable school district in San Mateo, CA, is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join their team for the upcoming school year starting August 13th. This direct hire opportunity offers full-time positions across various grade levels, ranging from early childhood to high school settings. The district prides itself on providing comprehensive support to students with diverse learning needs, including Mild/Moderate and Extensive Support Needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with special education needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement IEPs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain clear communication with families and school staff.
- Support students across early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school environments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist credential with a PPS endorsement; candidates without these will not be considered.
- Experience working with students requiring Mild/Moderate and Extensive Support Needs preferred.
- Ability to manage caseloads effectively, spanning early childhood to high school aged students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Locations and Caseload Details:
- One Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) opening.
- Elementary school assignments include two Extensive Support Needs (M/S) and one first semester Mild/Moderate role.
- Middle school openings consist of four Mild/Moderate positions.
- High school assignments feature three Mild/Moderate and one Extensive Support Needs (M/S) roles.
Additional Information:
- Interviews may be conducted virtually or onsite, depending on site principal preferences and candidate availability.
- A signed contract is required prior to starting, with contract terms through 2027.
- Fingerprinting and background checks are mandatory before employment.
- Training and onboarding support will be provided.
