Exciting opportunity available for a Special Education Teacher to provide direct, individualized instruction to a student with moderate to severe needs. This contract role is located in the vibrant area near San Diego, CA and offers part-time hours, allowing for a balanced schedule while making a real difference in a student's educational journey.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential
- Demonstrated experience working with students at the moderate to severe support level
- Ability to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and incorporate best practices for special education
- Strong skills in fostering communication and social-emotional growth
- Capacity for compassionate, patient, and adaptive teaching in a 1:1 setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored lesson plans designed to meet the unique needs and abilities of the assigned student
- Work closely with families, related service providers, and educational staff to ensure progress and continuity of care
- Accurately document and report academic and behavioral progress
- Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to support student growth
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
