Special Education Teacher Contract Position Salem, MA
A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a public school in Salem, Massachusetts on a contract basis. This role involves working closely with students who have diverse learning needs, providing tailored instructional support and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Adapt general education curriculum to meet student capabilities and learning styles
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure holistic student development
- Monitor and document student progress regularly, adjusting instructional methods as necessary
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student performance and needs
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education teaching
- Experience working with students aged 5-21 with various disabilities and developmental challenges
- Strong knowledge of state and federal special education regulations and best practices
- Ability to adapt lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and behavioral needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
