Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a center-based Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) classroom. This full-time contract opportunity supports elementary students in grades 35 within a highly structured environment. Work with a small, dedicated caseload and a collaborative team focused on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. The position follows a MondayFriday, 8:00 AM4:00 PM schedule, allowing educators to engage deeply with each student and provide targeted interventions.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required
- EBD licensure strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in center-based or high-needs behavioral settings
- Skilled in IEP and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) development and progress monitoring
- Proficient in classroom management and behavior de-escalation
- Strong communication abilities and a collaborative mindset
- Preferred: Experience in Setting III or center-based classrooms, PBIS/CPI/trauma-informed interventions, and working with behavioral elementary caseloads
Role Expectations:
- Teach and manage a classroom of approximately six students with EBD in grades 35
- Collaborate with support staff in a structured special education setting
- Design, implement, and monitor IEPs and BIPs to promote students academic and behavioral success
- Use proactive classroom management and intervention strategies
- Foster an environment that supports social-emotional learning and development
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and regular team collaboration
