Job Description
Bring your expertise in special education to a rewarding contract role for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time opportunity is ideal for passionate professionals eager to make a difference with students in a Setting 3 classroom, supporting those with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You'll work in a single building, focusing on a dedicated group of approximately 6-10 students, delivering instruction and support designed to help every learner succeed.
Your workday will be spent collaborating with education teams, developing and implementing individualized education plans, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with 37.5 hours per week dedicated to student growth and well-being.
Desired Qualifications:
- Special Education Teacher license with current ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or Tier 4 only)
- Demonstrated experience working with students with developmental or cognitive disabilities and/or autism
- Strong skills in individualized education program (IEP) development and progress monitoring
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, adaptive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to students in Setting 3 classrooms
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Maintain detailed student records and monitor progress
- Encourage and model positive behavioral interventions and supports
