Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in grades K-5 in a full-time, contract position based in Saint Paul, MN. This role focuses exclusively on instruction and IEP meetings for a resource caseload of 13 students, all with completed evaluations, enabling a smooth onboarding process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to K-5 students with special education needs
  • Lead and actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
  • Develop and implement effective educational strategies aligned with student needs
  • Collaborate with school staff to support student growth and success
  • Manage a caseload of 13 students ensuring progress monitoring and documentation
  • Follow the school schedule from Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 7:30 AM 3:10 PM, and Wednesday: 7:30 AM 4:10 PM, including a 30-minute lunch and 80 minutes of daily planning time

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification (Reading endorsement preferred but not required)
  • Experience working with K-5 students in special education settings
  • Strong knowledge of instructional methods and IEP processes
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and educational teams
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to student success in a resource classroom environment

Location: Saint Paul, MN
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: End of School Year

This position does not include para-professional supervision, providing an opportunity for autonomous instructional leadership.
