Job Description
Step into a vital role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis through June 11, 2026. These opportunities are available in educational settings serving a range of student needs, including autism and developmental cognitive disabilities, with positions at multiple school sites throughout the Saint Paul area. Youll work on-site within a collaborative environment, helping students thrive and develop essential skills.
Multiple positions are available, with caseloads ranging from 419 students, across these areas:
- Autism (Elementary/Secondary and Lower grades)
- Early Childhood Special Education (Itinerant)
- Special Education (Homebound and school-based)
- Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction adapted for individual and group learning within assigned caseloads
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
- Assess and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and support staff to ensure student success
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development
- Provide services on-site, with some roles involving itinerant or homebound support
Qualifications:
- Active and valid Minnesota teaching license required
- Previous experience working with students in special education settings preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Flexibility to work with diverse student populations and adapt to various educational settings
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
