Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Setting 4 students. This role supports students with the highest behavioral needs and most severe disabilities, requiring a compassionate and skilled educator comfortable working in this specialized environment.

Location: Coon Rapids, MN
Assignment Length: February 9, 2026 June 5, 2026
Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch daily)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with severe disabilities in a Setting 4 classroom environment.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to deliver comprehensive services.
  • Monitor and document student progress while maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with families and caregivers to ensure alignment of learning goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 Teaching License in Special Education (required for consideration).
  • Experience working with students who have severe disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to manage a caseload consisting solely of Setting 4 students.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to commute to Coon Rapids.
