A unique contract opportunity awaits experienced Special Education professionals ready to make a positive impact in elementary education. This role involves leading a self-contained ESE classroom, supporting students with a wide range of learning differences and exceptionalities at a single school location in the Jacksonville, FL area. The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour workweek on-site (7 hours per day). Candidates will primarily work with elementary-aged students, but there is some flexibility to match personal preference where possible.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Florida ESE certification required, along with either K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification.
- Demonstrated previous experience in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with school staff, students, and families.
- Ability to manage varying learning levels and exceptionalities within one environment.
- Completion of required fingerprinting and credentialing steps, including verification through the AHCA Clearinghouse or completion of new fingerprints as needed.
- Willingness to participate in a virtual prescreen interview as part of the eligibility process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and manage the learning environment for a self-contained ESE classroom.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with support staff and families.
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to enhance each students educational experience.
- Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with state and district requirements.
- Serve as an advocate for student growth, achievement, and inclusion.
