In this role, youll work closely with students who have moderate cognitive impairments, helping them develop academic, social, and life skills for lifelong success. Desired Qualifications:
- Current State of Michigan special education teaching license required
- Experience in Special Education, particularly with MoCI (Moderately Cognitively Impaired) students preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs and behavior intervention plans
- Passion for fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment
What Youll Do:
- Develop and adapt curricular materials for students with special needs
- Create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Foster a nurturing, supportive, and inclusive classroom culture
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Collect data and monitor student progress, making adjustments as needed
- Advocate for your students unique educational and social needs
