Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive school setting. This onsite, contract position offers the chance to work with K-5 students, fostering growth and positive outcomes in an inclusive classroom environment. Each day consists of 7-hour shifts, including a half-hour unpaid lunch, allowing you to maintain a consistent work-life balance while making a daily difference.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license in Wisconsin (SPED license required)
- Prior professional experience in a school environment strongly preferred
- Passion for working with students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families
- Organizational skills to manage varying caseload needs and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to K-5 elementary students with special needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Use evidence-based strategies to create inclusive and adaptive learning experiences
- Maintain records of student progress, assessments, and communications as required
- Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful classroom atmosphere
- Engage with parents, guardians, and staff to facilitate student success
