Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Special Education teaching certification appropriate for the state
- In-depth knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Previous experience working with K-12 students with varying exceptionalities
- Familiarity with evidence-based classroom management and instruction strategies
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Adaptability to new environments and willingness to integrate into an existing team
- Ability to track student progress and adapt plans as needed
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver specially tailored instruction to meet each students unique needs
- Conduct assessments, create IEPs, and participate in annual review meetings
- Utilize accommodations and modifications to support student learning
- Foster a classroom environment that values inclusion, safety, and respect
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Regularly communicate student progress to families and school teams
- Maintain documentation and compliance in accordance with district and state guidelines
