Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher, supporting diverse learners across multiple grade levels. This contract opportunity calls for a dedicated educator comfortable working with various age groups, from early childhood through high school, including kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school classes. Expertise in math instruction is highly valued, as you will tailor lessons to meet individual students needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field; teaching credential required
- Experience teaching special education at one or more grade levels (Pre-K through Grade 12)
- Proficiency in developing and adapting curriculum across multiple grades, including core math concepts
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for working with families, paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of IEP processes, documentation, and goal development
- Ability to create a supportive, positive learning environment that fosters student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement individualized lesson plans based on students IEPs and unique learning goals
- Modify teaching approaches to accommodate a variety of learning needs for students from early childhood through high school
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure an inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and strategies for continued development
- Track student progress, adjust instruction as needed, and maintain accurate records
