This full-time position serves a single location and offers the chance to positively impact a small group of six students, alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals. You'll collaborate in a supportive school environment, working under state-wide special education guidelines.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
• Experience in elementary education and/or behavioral classroom settings strongly preferred
• Strong classroom management, de-escalation, and individualized instruction skills
• Ability to develop tailored lesson plans and implement IEPs effectively
• Collaborative mindset, comfortable partnering with paraprofessionals and other staff
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for elementary-aged students in a self-contained setting
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment with proactive behavioral supports
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals to maximize learning and safety
• Conduct ongoing assessments and update IEPs as needed, tracking student progress carefully
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain open, professional communication with team members and families
• Comply with all district, state, and federal guidelines for special education
