What youll need to succeed:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education
- Valid state Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with cross-categorical or self-contained classroom settings is preferred
- Understanding of IEP processes and ability to craft individualized learning strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Flexibility and creativity in addressing diverse student needs
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing individualized lesson plans aligned with students IEP goals
- Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for all learners
- Assessing student progress and adapting teaching methods as needed
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize student growth
- Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to state and district guidelines
- Engaging with families to foster strong school-home partnerships
