Working primarily with students who are mostly non-verbal or have limited verbal ability, youll play a vital part in fostering their progress both academically and personally.

What qualifications and experience are needed?

• Active GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K age groups
• Practical experience working with preschool-aged children, particularly in special education settings
• Comfort with assisting in toileting/diapering routines and feeding needs
• Skill in implementing behavioral strategies for young children
• Ability to differentiate instruction and provide individualized support
• Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with fellow educators and support staff

Key responsibilities include:

• Creating and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs
• Supporting students in developing communication, social, and daily living skills
• Assisting with daily routines, including behavior management, toileting/diapering, and snack or meal support
• Collaborating with therapists and support staff to ensure comprehensive educational programming
• Maintaining detailed records and contributing to IEP meetings
• Engaging positively with families to foster success at home and school
