Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Proven experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, families, and students
  • Knowledge of modified curriculum, differentiated instruction, and behavioral interventions
  • Ability to create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
  • Flexibility to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized learning tools is a plus

  • Plan and deliver tailored instructional activities that accommodate various learning differences
  • Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines

  • Partner with families, general education staff, and support professionals to maximize student success
  • Foster a respectful, safe classroom supporting student independence and self-advocacy
  • Attend team meetings, professional development sessions, and required trainings
  • Implement positive behavior support and interventions as appropriate
