Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Proven experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, families, and students
- Knowledge of modified curriculum, differentiated instruction, and behavioral interventions
- Ability to create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Flexibility to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
- Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized learning tools is a plus
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver tailored instructional activities that accommodate various learning differences
- Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Assess students academic, emotional, and social growth, maintaining thorough and up-to-date records
- Partner with families, general education staff, and support professionals to maximize student success
- Foster a respectful, safe classroom supporting student independence and self-advocacy
- Attend team meetings, professional development sessions, and required trainings
- Implement positive behavior support and interventions as appropriate
