Job Description

Make an impact supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this rewarding contract position, youll provide individualized instruction and care to a small caseload of 7 kindergarten and first-grade students in a collaborative, well-supported environment. Youll work side by side with two dedicated paraprofessionals and have the ongoing guidance of a strong special education and building team.

Your skills and expertise will help shape a nurturing, inclusive classroom, allowing every student the best opportunity to thrive. Candidates must be able to work onsite on a full-time basis and bring their passion for helping young learners succeed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification with Autism Spectrum Disorder endorsement
  • Experience supporting students at the elementary level, preferably K-1st grade
  • Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with paraprofessionals, classroom staff, and support teams
  • Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute individualized education plans for a caseload of 7 students
  • Employ evidence-based strategies to support learners with autism
  • Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals for classroom management and instructional delivery
  • Participate in team meetings and partner with the buildings special education professionals
  • Adapt lesson plans and activities to differentiate instruction and accommodate diverse learning styles
  • Track student progress and maintain up-to-date records in accordance with school policies
