Job Description
A school district in Rochester, NY, is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a per diem contract position starting January 12, 2026, through June 26, 2026. This role offers flexible daily scheduling from Monday to Friday, with no guaranteed hours per week, providing an opportunity to work as needed to support special education students within the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored special education instruction to students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with educational staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet student goals and abilities
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior
- Participate in team meetings as required
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid New York State Special Education teaching license (submission of license required)
- Experience working in special education settings, preferably within schools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a flexible schedule and respond to district needs quickly
