This opportunity is for a per diem Special Education Teacher serving K-12 students within a dynamic school setting in Rochester, NY. This contract position spans from January 12, 2026, through June 26, 2026, with a flexible schedule Monday through Friday. The role involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring educational goals are met in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored special education services to K-12 students on a per diem basis.
- Implement and adapt individualized lesson plans to support students unique learning requirements.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to foster inclusive learning environments.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of educational activities and performance.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of effective instructional strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New York State teaching license with certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work varying days as a substitute teacher, with no guaranteed daily hours.
