Required Qualifications:
- Current Michigan Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and accommodating diverse learning needs
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
- Flexibility, patience, and creativity in addressing student challenges
- Able to create an inclusive and positive classroom community
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and interventions to elementary students with varying needs within a resource classroom
- Develop, implement, and regularly update IEPs in collaboration with families and other educational professionals
- Adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to accommodate unique learning styles and ensure student growth
- Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and adjust interventions as necessary
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to support student success
- Participate in meetings, multidisciplinary team conferences, and ongoing professional development sessions
