Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a contract Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher, supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. This on-site opportunity offers four positions dedicated to providing specialized instruction in resource teaching roles. Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Valid NC teaching credentials in Special Education (EC certification required)
  • Experience creating and implementing IEPs tailored to individual student needs
  • Familiarity with resource room settings and managing diverse learning accommodations
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with general educators, support staff, and families
  • Effective classroom management and ability to foster a positive learning climate
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct special education instruction to students in resource settings at assigned grade levels (elementary, middle, or high school)
  • Develop, monitor, and update individualized educational plans (IEPs), maintaining compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Collaborate with IEP teamsincluding teachers, parents, and specialiststo support student progress
  • Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to meet students unique needs
  • Track, document, and report student progress both academically and behaviorally
  • Participate in school meetings, trainings, and professional development as required
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality policies at all times

Contract Details:

  • Full-time position: 35 hours per week, on-site
  • Contract duration: July 27, 2026 July 2, 2027
  • Caseloads available: 2 elementary, 1 middle, 1 high school EC resource roles
