Key Qualifications:
- Active New Mexico Special Education teaching license required
- Experience handling a substantial IEP caseload, with strong skills in creating, managing, and facilitating IEPs
- Knowledge and previous use of IEP systems preferred
- Willingness to undergo background checks and fingerprinting, per state and school requirements
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Previous experience in an itinerant special education position is an advantage
Role Responsibilities:
- Serve as an itinerant Special Education Teacher across one assigned school
- Manage a busy caseload, efficiently coordinating, updating, and leading IEP meetings
- Collaborate with general educators, specialists, and families to implement personalized learning plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for student progress and compliance
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of students
- Engage in school-wide initiatives, meetings, and continuing education as needed
