Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students in a social communication classroom setting. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for passionate Special Education Teachers who are ready to work closely with K-3rd grade students, fostering both academic and social success.

In this role, youll be part of a supportive school environment, collaborating with a professional interdisciplinary team. The position runs from ASAP through June 4, 2027, with an anticipated daily commitment of 35 hours per week.

What Were Looking For:

• Valid New Mexico teaching license and current NMPED credentials
• Prior experience in a Special Education role, ideally serving K-3rd grade
• Strong background supporting students with social communication needs
• Dedication to individualized instruction and inclusive education practices
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with classroom staff, students, and families
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and uphold all state/district compliance standards

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in a social communication classroom
• Develop and implement IEPs, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs
• Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
• Use evidence-based strategies to promote students social and academic growth
• Track student progress and communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members
• Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development as scheduled
