Bring your expertise to a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a special education inclusion setting for the upcoming school year. This full-time contract position is set in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with two dedicated teams to foster student growth and success. The role provides meaningful engagement with a small caseload of approximately 8-9 students, all within a supportive elementary school atmosphere. The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with the likelihood of a few additional days for planning and wrap-up to ensure a successful start and finish to the school year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active GaPSC Teaching Educator Certificate with Special Education General Curriculum endorsement required
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher in an inclusion setting preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to meeting the individualized educational needs of diverse learners
- Ability to implement and adapt instructional strategies for varying learning styles
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction in both small-group and inclusion classroom settings
- Collaborate with fellow special education and general education professionals for instructional planning
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Track and evaluate student progress, maintaining thorough and accurate documentation
- Engage regularly with parents, caregivers, and outside support providers
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and planning sessions
