This assignment is designed for a passionate educator with special education and general education expertise, ideally holding both certifications, to teach and support a homebound first-grade student with lower cognitive abilities and other health disabilities. Flexible part-time scheduling (about 10 hours per week with options for after-school sessions) makes it easy to tailor your work around your lifestyle and downtime explorations.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license required
- Special Education certification (any area)
- General Education certification (Elementary level)
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with cognitive impairments and OHD (Other Health Disabilities)
- Comfortable working with homebound learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide both general and special education instruction to a 1st-grade student in a homebound setting
- Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and cognitive abilities
- Maintain consistent communication with parents and school personnel
