Job Description

In this rewarding part-time opportunity, youll bring your expertise in special education to a supportive high school environment, making a positive difference in the lives of students. Working 20 hours per week, youll collaborate with faculty, families, and support staff to help 19 exceptional learners achieve their goals. Morning hours (4 per day) provide an ideal schedule for balance and flexibility.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education for high school level
  • Proven classroom experience working with high school students requiring individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with current special education laws, assessment methods, and instructional best practices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to successfully manage diverse student needs and behaviors with empathy and creativity

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to each students IEP goals and unique needs
  • Develop, review, and update IEPs in collaboration with families and colleagues
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate and detailed records
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth
  • Proactively consult and partner with general education teachers to facilitate successful integration and accommodations
  • Attend relevant meetings, contribute to team discussions, and maintain compliance with all required documentation
