Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 20262027 school year in Redford, MI. This onsite role offers the opportunity to work in either an Early Childhood or High School special education classroom within the district. The teacher will provide tailored instruction and essential support to students with a range of learning needs, fostering an inclusive and effective educational environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assessing and tracking student progress regularly
  • Collaborating closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Applying behavior and academic interventions to enhance student learning outcomes

Qualifications sought for this role are:

  • Valid Michigan Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement
  • Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or a commitment to obtain and maintain it annually
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred
