An opportunity is available for a full-time Life Skills Special Education Teacher working with elementary-level students in Ranchos De Taos, NM. This position is a contract role for the school year, offering 6.5 hours of work per day focused on delivering specialized education designed to support students life skills development.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing individualized lesson plans tailored to the needs of students with special education requirements.
• Delivering instruction that equips students with essential life skills while meeting curriculum standards.
• Collaborating and communicating effectively with parents, students, and school staff both verbally and in writing.
• Monitoring and assessing student progress to adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting as required by the school and state guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors and/or Masters degree in education or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in teaching subjects and levels relevant to elementary life skills education.
• Strong communication skills to engage with parents, students, and colleagues.
• Active New Mexico Teaching License in Special Education.
